Treatment for Lung Hemorrhage in Dogs

The treatment will depend on the severity of the lesion and any other injuries that your dog may have. It is likely that your dog will need oxygen supplementation and that he/she will need to stay under medical observation for various days.

Pain medications and antibiotics may be needed. Surgical intervention may be needed if there is air or blood in the thorax and if there is any bone fracture. Your dog’s recovery depends on the severity of the damage and whether it could be treated in time.

The chances of a full recovery for your dog are excellent if the damage was mild and was treated immediately.

With the surgery and following treatments, hemorrhages in dogs are expensive. You can’t sacrifice the health of your dog, but paying for those bills out of pocket is expensive.

Dog pet insurance plan can keep you from draining your savings account because of your dog’s lung hemorrhaging.
