Turkish Van Cat Insurance

Turkish Van Cat Insurance

Sometimes known as the swimming cat because of its reputed fascination with water, the Turkish Van is said to have been named for the area where it originated around Lake Van, Turkey. The longish coats of these cats have a distinctive pattern longish coat—white with patches of color on the tail and head—and their eyes are either blue, amber or occasionally one of each. They are great hunters, but adapt well to living indoors and interact well with people.

Should you Purchase Insurance for your Turkish Van Cat?

Turkish Vans are hardy cats with no known breed-specific health issues, and most live for 15 years or more. Any cat may become ill, however, and all cats age; add to this the fact that Turkish Van kittens run $500 or more, and owners may find that it makes sense to protect their cat with pet health insurance.
