Rhodesian Ridgeback Pet Insurance

If your not-so-little-one is a Rhodesian Ridgeback, it’s a good plan to invest in pet insurance.

While they are very loyal companions who will love their family unconditionally, they have a strong hunting instinct that can get them into trouble and, like many pure breeds, have their own hereditary conditions that can be costly without the assistance of an insurance plan.

These large, sweet-loving dogs have a life span of 10 to 11 years; a fairly long life span for their size. Because they are a large dog, like a St. Bernard, you want to make sure you have plenty of room for them to move.

With a dog insurance plan, you can keep your four-legged family member tail-wagging happy and healthy, save yourself thousands of dollars, and feel safe in the knowledge that your little gal or guy will have the care he or she needs should a health scare ever arise.

Comparing Pet Insurance for Rhodesian Ridgebacks

As with any dog, you want a dog insurance plan that covers your four-legged companion for injuries they may obtain when their curiosity gets the better of them, as well as, those occasions when a serious health issue threatens your dog’s wellbeing.

Rhodesian Ridgebacks are notorious chowhounds, so keep that bag of dog food out of reach or it will quickly become a doggie-buffet.

They are also prone to a skin condition known as Dermoid sinus (usually first noticed on the midline of their neck, back and/or their tail along the spine), and joint problems as they get older.

When searching for the right plan for your Rhodesian Ridgeback be sure to pay special attention to coverage for their unique hereditary conditions.

Common Rhodesian Ridgeback Health Problems

Let pet insurance take the worry out of complicated health care so you can focus on enjoying the fun of having a great dog with tons of personality and love to give!

Rhodesian Ridgebacks are a very unique breed; originating from Africa where they were mainly used for hunting large game. While they are still used for hunting today, they also have a sweet disposition that has won the hearts of many Ridge moms and dads.

These adaptable pups will play outside with the family, without the need for a second invitation, but are just as happy to curl up and watch a movie with the kids.

Is Rhodesian Ridgeback Dog Insurance Worth the Cost? of course it is! they are beautiful dogs. We regularly meet one on our dog walks and they are gentle and playful. No one should be owning a large dog like this though if they are not prepared to buy pet insurance and spend money on what the dog needs.

Pet insurance is as much about peace of mind as it is about money. You may pay insurance premiums for years and never make a claim. But think about whether you could afford a huge vet’s bill if your pet fell ill or had an accident in the short term
